Dr. Desai was born and raised in New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate training at Rutgers University and obtained his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.
He completed his residency training in psychiatry at Western Michigan University’s Homer Stryker School of Medicine, working in Southwest Michigan serving patients in rural areas. His work at a community hospital taught him the importance of inclusive and accessible mental health services.
He lives that value today, championing the cause of extending mental health services to all who seek solace and support.
